Background and Objectives
Water is an essential resource for human well-being and ecosystem
functioning. The availability of fresh water is continuously declining due
to increasing water demands, global climate change and a multitude of water
use conflicts. Thus the sustainable management of water is a key issue in
future societal development.
The water, being a fundamental element for life, is strongly linked with the
food production, energy generation and environment. However, the
anthropogenic activities have triggered the global climate change. The
evidence for climate change is now considered to be unequivocal and it can
cause huge impact on global water resources. Substantial adaptation is
needed to ensure management of water resources for food, energy and
environment.
The conference will provide a great opportunity for scientists, engineers,
water managers and professionals from education, research, government and
private sectors consulting establishments to come together to express their
opinions and interests. We expect to attract a wide international audience
to attend the conference.
