Computer Lab

1.      The Centre of Excellence in WRE its own computer facility. This computer laboratory, which is reserved for use by centre’s students for the practical as well as research purpose, is equipped with 20 computers in which most of the PCs are latest CORE DUO linked to a Microsoft Windows server using a fast Ethernet connection. All computers in the laboratory are connected to the Internet. The lab is also equipped with printers and Multimedia Projector. All students have CD-RWs, DVD players, and allow for flash-drive data storage. The laboratory is also equipped with a Hewlett Packard scanner attached to a single computer containing Adobe Fine Reader optical character recognition software and image processing software.  License Operating systems include Windows 7, XP, MS office 2007 and Antivirus.

A variety of software of special interest to students is available on each computer in this lab, including ArcGIS, HEC RAS, MOD Flow, SIC and other software running under the Windows XP and windows 7 operating system

2.      To meet the international standard for education recently centre has developed the Video Conferencing Lab. This lab has fully equipped with latest PolyCom video conferencing equipment, Backup (UPS) and fully furnished. This lab is providing online lectures, recording lectures with real time presentation with latest document camera.

Computer LAB has sitting capacity of 30 Student next phase have to extend the Latest Computers from 20 to 30 for student with back up plan for LAB with UPS for facilitate the students during their research work and practical. Furthermore, wireless net connectivity is also under consideration for students’ hostel as well as in Centre.
